There can be a lot to keep track of with Scouting so the Pack has made a list of the most important things to remember and know. The most important of all is the Scout Motto of "DO YOUR BEST!"
The Cub Scouts uniforms are designed to instill pride and unity among young scouts while promoting the values of scouting. Every Cub Scout should wear their uniform to all Cub Scouting activities, unless otherwise stated. The invites for the events will specify a Class A or Class B uniform. Uniforms can be purchased online or locally at our Coastal Carolina Scout Shop in North Charleston.
Class A Uniform is the “formal” Cub Scout shirt, belt, neckerchief, and slide. It is usually worn for all Pack and Den meetings, as well as other special events. BSA hat, shorts/pants/skorts, and socks are optional.
Cub Scouts Class B uniform is a more casual and comfortable option. It is typically worn during outdoor activities and events. Pack 11 supplies the class B t-shirt to new scouts.
Cub Scout Hats are sold by Pack 11. Instead of buying rank-specific hats, we recommend purchasing our Pack 11 hats. These hats are designed for longevity, allowing scouts to wear the same hat throughout their scouting journey. Available for $25 at pack events.
Cub Scout adventures are engaging, hands-on activities designed to foster teamwork, leadership, and personal growth among young scouts. Each adventure is linked to specific rank requirements, encouraging scouts to explore the outdoors, develop skills, and participate in community service. Adventures can include hiking, camping, crafts, and STEM projects, allowing scouts to learn in a fun and interactive way. They also emphasize core values like respect, responsibility, and cooperation. Cub Scouts gain confidence, learn new skills, and create lasting memories, all while enjoying the spirit of adventure that scouting embodies.
The Cub Scout Handbook guides Scouts and their Dens through the Cub Scouts program. Filled with colorful illustrations and engaging activities, it covers outdoor skills, citizenship, community service, and personal development. They can be purchased online or locally at our Coastal Carolina Scout Shop in North Charleston.
BSA Youth Protection Training is a crucial program designed to educate adult leaders, volunteers, parents, and staff within the BSA about how to recognize, prevent, and respond to child abuse and other safety concerns. The training emphasizes creating a safe environment for youth, understanding the signs of abuse, and the importance of the Scout Law and Oath in fostering trust and responsibility. Participants learn essential policies and procedures to protect children, ensuring that Scouting remains a safe and welcoming space for all young people.
Participants in any Scouting events must complete Parts A and B annually. They contain a health history, a guardian informed consent, and hold harmless release agreement, and a talent release statement.
